The Colonial Center believes in fostering and encouraging the development of theatre and performing arts in Southside Virginia and the surrounding regions. The following outlines our cor commitment.

Opening night is tomorrow for our next Colonial Actors Theatre Society Community Theater Production! Several surprises are in store as members of our community sit in the choir for this southern favorite. Smoke on the Mountain takes place in 1938 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in North Carolina. The play presents a Saturday Night Gospel Sing featuring the Sanders Family in their first night back on the gospel circuit in five years. Between songs, the family members tell personal stories that relate to their trials of faith. This show is sponsored by Citizens Community Bank. The dates of the production run as follows: May 18, 19, and 26 at 8pm May 20 and 27 at 2:30pm TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE UNDER OUR EVENTS TAB! Auditions for the Summer Revue (50's & 60's music) will be held Sunday June 10 at 2:30 PM. We are looking for individuals who are solo singers and who can work well on their on with minimum rehearsals. Some music has been cast for the show per the Director's choice. Music will be provided from the songs that have been pre-selected for the showcase. 	2:30 PM	SMOKE ON THE MOUNTAIN - Community Theater C.A.T.S. Production - Join the Colonial Actors Theatre Society as they present this off-broadway classic.
